Quick history. Dr. Joel Freeman established The Freeman Institute in 1993, after many years serving as chaplain for the NBA Washington Wizards/Bullets ('79-'98). He has taken his "NBA chaplain's heart" into the general marketplace with great success. As a prolific author, professional counselor, off-key singer, a budding film maker and extremely bad dancer, Freeman has worked with Heads of State, many in various organization including the Federal Judiciary, government agencies, corporations and the music/entertainment industries. His international list of clients could be straight off a Who's Who list. In 2002 he participated in a Pan African conference with well over 100 African Kings in attendance. The Freeman Institute has several arenas of expertise, including workshops on a variety of topics, executive coaching and long-term organizational culture change. The Freeman Institute is dedicated to developing creative resources for better communication skills, enhanced tools for conflict resolution and for cross-cultural understanding.
