About forestparkzoo_com

The Zoo in Forest Park is a non-profit organization governed by the Forest Park Zoological Society. Situated in Forest Park, a 735 acre woodland park in Springfield, the Zoo features exotic and indigenous animals representing a large variety of species found throughout the world and in North America.

The Zoo is dedicated to wildlife education and offers a variety of educational programs and special events for children and adults. Zoo On The Go, Guided Tours, and Discovery Programs are adapted to age groups and interests. A Family Program Series brings animal experts to the zoo for informal programs and demonstrations, and Animal Stories in July introduces the mystery and excitement of nature through literature. Winter Safari and Animals In Winter Programs feature classes and workshops during winter school break weeks. Special topics or classroom presentations may be arranged.
